Yes, I think the Lord wants us happy but he also knows we have to go through things to help us grow in our faith. He wants us to know he is always with us and carries us when necessary and to trust in Him
I have to agree with plthomas on this one. I believe that the Lord wants us to be happy in every possible way, but I also think he tests us everyday to make sure we are following in his footsteps to make sure we are happy for the right reasons under his preaching. Because some people can be happy under the wrong pretense in which they have done something devilish to make them believe they are "truely happy". I believe the Lord will let someone feel unhappy also, just to see if they will be one of his followers and put faith in him to prove that he is the one and only God out there.
